The machine is designed to be equipped with more than 60 fixed
element channels, using photomultiplier tubes. This Glow Discharge
Optional Emission Spectrometer is perfectly suitable for demanding
applications requiring flexibility, high resolution, and analytical
precision.

This machine is designed to analyse coatings up to a depth of 200µm,
with a depth resolution of 1nm to 5 nm on the surface, the GDA 550 HR
is also capable of executing bulk elemental analysis (chemical
composition of materials) providing superior linearity of calibration
curves for complex matrices. The detection limits at most are 01 ppm

This instrument can be used e.g for the following applications:

- to inspect surfaces after diffusion processes
- to examine galvanic coating processes
- to analyse hard material coating via PVD or CVD
- to assess hot dip galvanizing as well as other kinds of galvanizing
- to determine the elemental concentration in layers and bulk material
